Fall Break - A Perfect Sunday

Sunday was one of our favorite days on vacation. We had found the ward and directions before we left. It was at 9:00 so we had to get up and get going (that's okay, our kids don't let us sleep in past 7:30 on a good day, I jokingly told Bryan that one day we'll be able to sleep in all we want, in about 20 years). The ward was wonderful and diverse, they even had me come into YW and talk about being a mother. We love to meet new people! A family there told us about a nature reserve just down the street that was free and open to the public...perfect Sunday activity! We headed home to change, eat and take a blissfully wonderful Sunday nap (we have church at 12pm right now, so our naps are always messed up). Then we all went to the Fern Forest Nature Center. There was a board walk trail great for a stroller and a little museum of creatures and bones, etc. We saw some amazing trees, cypress knees, banyans, strangling figs, etc...Bryan could elaborate more ;-). At the very end Bryan spotted a green snake on a palm frond...he has a gift (more on how he used it later in our vacation). He caught it and showed it off to our kids and a local photographer and his family.

After spending and hour or so at the Nature center we drove over to the beach, it was almost sunset so we enjoyed a beautiful display of nature. The beaches were different down here and there are a lot of different shells and coral than we are used to at Daytona. The kids were amazed running up and down the beach yelling "look what I found". We ended up with quite the collection. There was even a working light house down the beach. Bryan and I just looked at each other and smiled, happy to be parents and have so many blessings in our life. A perfect day!
