January Birthdays

So Makayla turned 7 on January 16th and Cayd turned 1 on January 18th. SO we had the first Combined party of their lives on the 17th. Makayla thought the arrangement was perfect because she got to take cupcakes to school on Thursday (15), had her own Pudding pie on her real birthday (16) and then the party on the 17th. She LOVES sharing a birthday! We'll see how she feels when she is 16 and he is 10. ;-)

She once again chose her theme of Webkinz. Which has become her newest obsession. If you aren't familiar with them which I wasn't a few months ago...they are stuffed animals that come with a computer ID. You can log them in online and build a whole virtual world for them complete with home, school, vacations, work, etc. So we put together a party with some of the games you can play on there...Smoothie Moves where we made icees, Quizzy's Corner where we answered questions and they got Monopoly money to "buy" treats with and a Gem hunt where they got to "dig" for gems (polished stones). It was a huge hit for the cousins and Makayla has declared it was the best ever and wants a Webkinz party every year.

Poor Cayd was running a fever throughout the weekend, cutting his molars. He had medicine in him for his cake and seemed to enjoy the icing. The kids were enjoying watching him as much as anything, listen to their laughter, behind Amy's commentary, on the video.

My mom, Mimi to the kids, got to come down for the birthday weekend. The kids loved seeing her and Uncle Devin. She brought Cayd a new blanket to cuddle.
This is one of the new Webkinz she received.

Makayla saw the Shields tradition my brothers have of getting their own pudding pie on their birthday because years ago Hal gave up on cakes...he'd never eat any of it. Makayla thought the idea of your own pie was awesome and decided she wanted that.

How cute is that! Yeah I remember the combined Birthdays. It was fun till I turned 14. Wish we could have come but we enjoyed time with Darren's family that weekend. Birthday Party looked like a real hit. Tell Makayla Puddig Pies are the bomb!
